“A Madsen Perspective”
Patrick Hunter
16, dockhand, aspiring
artist
The imagery of
this
banner shows the Madsen head frame. It is looking over my neighbourhood
in Madsen at sunset. There is a slight view of Beaver Dam Lake
and the second road used to get into Madsen.
This banner reflects the history of the district because Madsen was
once a great mining community in the Red Lake region, with its own
“everything” and now it has faded away into what we know it as today.
I am proud to call Madsen my home
so I wanted to paint something that
would make people stop, look at the banner and say, “That’s
Madsen!” I think I might have succeeded.
