Balmertown

The first planned community in the Red Lake District, Balmertown's attractive neighbourhoods provide a safe and healthy environment to raise a family.  Here you'll find an excellent elementary school and plenty of recreational opportunities at your doorstep.  Golfing, snowmobiliing, indoor swimming, curling, bowling, are some of the most popular sports in the community.  The business district includes a hotel, restaurants, a supermarket, variety stores, and several other services.

For sisters Julia and Renee Robertson (right) of Toronto, visiting Grandma Tannis means endless possibilities to explore and discover the beauty of nature.  Their father, Craig Robertson, a Toronto Sun journalist and photographer, took this photo at their family cottage near Balmertown.

The Campbell Recreation Centre pool provides access to swimming programs year-round.

With 18 holes, a driving range, lounge, restaurant and pro shop, the Red Lake Golf and Country Club offers some of the best golfing in Northwestern Ontario.

The municipal office contains both administrative offices for the Municipality of Red Lake, and the Crull Rock and Mineral Collection.
