Heritage Centre is a charitable organization
which began as the Red Lake Museum. Open year-round, it offers a
wide
variety of school and community programs. The Centre houses a museum
and archives, interpretive displays about Woodland Caribou Park,
a tourist information centre, gift shop, education programs, special

or Forever Green for $8.00 ($9.00 at the door) has three options: Marry your husbands younger brother, burn with your dead husband or lead a life of self-denial. Set in 1938 colonial India, against Mahatma Gandhi's rise to power, the story begins when eight-year old Chuyia is widowed and sent to a home where Hindu widows must live in penitence. Chuyia's feisty presence affects the lives of the other residents including a young widow, who falls for a Gandhian idealist. Rated 14A "Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2006 Academy Awards and named one of Canada's top ten films of 2005" This film is made possible by Film Circuit and the Toronto International Film Festival The Red Lake Story has already travelled to Atikokan and Dryden where it received rave reviews! It opens July 2008 in Fort Frances.
